Music
At Anderton we use Kapow and Charanga to support our music teaching, these are online music scheme with lots of visual aids and interactive resources to support your children’s learning about music. Our children love using the glockenspiels and percussion trolley to take part practically in classroom music lessons. Take a look at our music curriculum overview below to find out what units your child will be covering in music this year.
Private keyboard and guitar lessons are available in school, which are taught by specialist music teachers.
Whole class Ukulele tuition takes place weekly in Year 5 and whole class recorder tuition takes place weekly in Year 2.
At Christmas Reception, put on a nativity play, Key Stage 1 put on a Christmas performance, both with lots of singing and dancing and Key Stage 2 children are invited to join a Christmas Choir Club.
To support our music teaching and provide engaging opportunities for our pupils, we often invite guests into our school. As well as having guests into school we also take groups of children out of school to take part in different musical events.
