Mrs Rushton

Welcome to the Year 6 page

In Year 6, the class teacher is Mrs. Rushton, Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Ashworth help to support the children in class.

Important Information about Year 6

Mrs. Rushton teaches us every day except Wednesday and Thursday afternoon when we are taught by Mrs. Stanley.

PE is on a Tuesday and Wednesday: children are to come to school in their normal uniform so please make sure PE kits are in school these days.

Reading books and planners should be brought in every day. Children should read four times a week and once with an adult. This year the children will be using their reading journal to record reading and homework.

Celebration assemblies will take place on a Friday afternoon.

The theme for spring is: ‘We Create’.

Our school value for spring is ‘Appreciate’ and our British Value is Rule of Law’.

Year 6 love working with their book Buddy on a Friday afternoon. They have established fantastic relationships with the reception children.

We love Forest School and Outdoor Learning. We learn to work as a team; how to produce crops; use atlases/compasses and use our DT skills to cook our homegrown produce.

We used our skills learnt in DT to saw wood for the fire and to make a Christmas decoration.

The Year 6 yearly overview and this terms theme overview can be found in the folder below.
