Subject Leader Mrs A Harrison
Through our Personal Health, Social Education and Citizenship curriculum we hope to enable the children to improve the quality of their lives, giving them sufficient knowledge and skills to prevent ill health, to make informed choices, to build self-esteem and competence in decision-making.
Issues such as healthy eating, exercise, use and misuse of drugs, personal safety and personal hygiene are taught within the science curriculum throughout the school. Sex education is taught through the Life Processes element of the science curriculum, and is approached with sensitivity and awareness of the child’s age and understanding. The children are encouraged to value love and loving relationships, friendship and responsibility.
