Children will develop confidence and mental fluency with numbers, counting and place value. They will learn to calculate mentally and using written methods. As they progress through the school, children will learn the relationships between fractions, decimals, percentages and ratio. Children will learn the properties of 2D and 3D shape and will learn to measure length, mass, capacity/volume, time and money. They will learn to interpret and construct a variety of charts and graphs. Children will use their learning to solve a range of mathematical problems and will understand the links between Maths and everyday life.
