The School Day

The school day begins at 8.50am. Children line up ready on the playground, where a member of staff (usually the class teacher) will greet them and take the class inside. Any children arriving late (after 8.50am) will be able to enter school via the school office with a parent, so that the office can record the reason for lateness.

For the first few days parents of Reception pupils are very welcome to bring their children into the Reception class, however we are obviously keen that pupils develop the confidence to come in by themselves as soon as possible.

Morning break is from 10:30 to 10:45. Children are allowed to bring a healthy snack to eat at break. Alternatively a healthy snack (fruit/toast) can be provided by school. Please contact Mrs Devlin (in the office) for details.

Infant children can have milk in the mornings – if you are interested in this, please speak to Mrs Devlin in the school office Tel: 01257 480551.

Lunchtime is between 12:00 and 1:10 for Key Stage 1 pupils and between 12:00 and 1:00 for Key Stage 2 pupils.

School ends at 3:20 for Infant children at 3:30 for Junior children. Teachers bring the children out onto the yard and they are collected by parents/carers or other named individuals (parents, please notify the school office of other responsible persons over the age of 16 who you are happy to allow to collect your child). Year 6 may go home alone providing written permission is given by a parent/carer.
